Work is so frustrating sometimes. At Forever 21, Iapos;m there until about 2am every night. Iapos;m still doing cashier, go-backs, straitening and other mundane things that anyone without a high school diploma can do. I want additional responsibilities, I want a promotion, something. I donapos;t think I can do this much longer. I know they appreciate me, and see that Iapos;m a good/hard worker, and I know I should speak up about wanting more responsibilities, but it just never seems like a good time. I think Iapos;m going to let these next few weeks roll by and maybe do some job searching on the side if things donapos;t progress from here.

With the serving job, things are getting better. I still feel like some people blatantly ignore me, but Iapos;m starting to warm up to other people. And the last time I worked, three different tables found the manager and complimented my service and someone who I had a week or two ago called in and asked if I was working so they could sit in my section. My manager was so impressed with me that he offered to get me a gift card at a retailer of my choice.

I know I have a great work ethic, Iapos;m pretty smart and learn things rather quickly, and I have so much customer service experience, itapos;s ridiculous. Someone could yell profanities at me, and Iapos;d take it without giving attitude back at all, and let it roll of my shoulders directly after the confrontation without a problem. And with Forever 21apos;s return policy, that actually happens a lot. I just need to grow a spine and become more assertive when I think I deserve more. I can do this.

Tomorrow is my first day off in weeeeeks I want to curl up on the couch and read the 3rd book of the Twilight series for a few hours, head to the dog park in the afternoon, and watch TV and drink a bottle of wine with Emily before bed. It has to be a totally unproductive and lazy ass day because I donapos;t see another day off in the foreseeable future. Holiday season is near and that means hell for both retail and restaurants. And since the economy is shit, theyapos;re coming to Forever 21 because the clothes are cheap as shit and while theyapos;re out, theyapos;re going to eat out, and Texas Roadhouse is in the parking lot of a mall. Bye bye social life. But, oh, hello cash flow.
